Description	:	MILDRED TURPEN REEVES Mildred Reeves of Cedar Falls, Iowa, was born August 23, 1910, near Pleasanton in Decatur County, Iowa, and died of lymphoma on December 5, 1998, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, Iowa at the age of 88 years. She was the first child of David and Blanche (LaFollette) Turpen. Mildred was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Read More	MILDRED TURPEN REEVES Mildred Reeves of Cedar Falls, Iowa, was born August 23, 1910, near Pleasanton in Decatur County, Iowa, and died of lymphoma on December 5, 1998, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, Iowa at the age of 88 years. She was the first child of David and Blanche (LaFollette) Turpen. Mildred was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was also a school teacher in Decatur County and the Pleasanton Grade School. On December 25, 1934, she was united in marriage to Franklin Arthur Reeves. Two children were born to this union, Lane Arthur and Carol Ann. Mildred and Franklin owned and operated the Pleasanton General Store until 1952, and they remained in the Pleasanton area until 1967. They moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and made their home there until 1990. Mildred and Franklin moved to Cedar Falls, Iowa to be near their son. Mildred was a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star in Pleasonton and a member of the Daughters of the Nile in Cedar Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers: Darrell Turpen, Richard Turpen, and infant brother Morris Turpen. Mildred is survived by her husband Franklin Receives of Cedar Falls; son Dr. Lane Reeves and wife Joanne of Cedar Falls; daughter Carol Mickelson and husband Roger of Columba, Missouri; 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren: Gregory Reeves and wife Stephanie and son Austin of Madison Lake, Minnesota, Andrew Reeves and wife Keiko and twin daughters Julia and Hannah of Hilliard, Ohio, Douglas Reeves and wife Brenda and son Corey Lane of Estherville, Iowa and Rodney Mickelson of Cedar Rapids; brother Duane Turpen and wife Bobby of Ottumwa, Iowa; two sisters-in-law, Margaret Turpen of Eldora, Iowa and Marjorie Turpen of Lamoni, Iowa; and other relatives and friends.
