Description	:	Mildred Hotzler, age 97 of Hartford and formerly of Sioux Falls, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2012. Mildred C. Hotzler was born on February 15, 1914 to Emil and Sophie (Muchow) Wehrkamp near Humboldt, SD. At the age of one, Millie and her family moved to Hartford, SD on a load of wheat. She attended Sunshine School near Hartford. Millie loved the farm and regularly spoke of the times of horse and buggy. She helped raise her younger siblings while their mother was helping with chores on the farm and has remained extremely close to her family. She loved them... Read More	Mildred Hotzler, age 97 of Hartford and formerly of Sioux Falls, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2012. Mildred C. Hotzler was born on February 15, 1914 to Emil and Sophie (Muchow) Wehrkamp near Humboldt, SD. At the age of one, Millie and her family moved to Hartford, SD on a load of wheat. She attended Sunshine School near Hartford. Millie loved the farm and regularly spoke of the times of horse and buggy. She helped raise her younger siblings while their mother was helping with chores on the farm and has remained extremely close to her family. She loved them dearly. In the 1940s, Millie moved to Sioux Falls and began a twenty year career with the Stockyard Café. She then began a new career at Morrell’s and for the next twenty-two years she worked in various departments, but spent most of her time in the cafeteria cooking for the workers. After her retirement from Morrell’s, Millie helped with numerous catering events in Sioux Falls. Millie was an outstanding cook and baker. She will be remembered for her pies and cookies and the fact that she never used a recipe. Millie had a very deep faith and was very involved with Augustana Lutheran Church and the Martha Circle. She was very proud of her family and loved spending as much times as possible with them. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Walter.
