Description	:	Grand Island (Nebraska) Daily Independent Monday, 22 December 1930 Miss Mildred Ormsby, 28, instructor in English at the Alliance high school, succumbed about 9:30 o'clock Sunday morning at the St. Francis hospital in this city to injuries which she received Friday evening when an auto in which she was riding was struck by a Burlington freight train near Ansley. She sustained a fractured skull, broken shoulder and numerous other severe injuries. She sustained a fractured skull, broken shoulder and numerous other severe injuries. With Miss Ormsby at the time of the crash were Richard Allen, of Lincoln, science teacher in the Alliance high school and Miss Lillian Calvert, of York, also a teacher in the Alliance schools. All were enroute to their homes for the Christmas holidays. Miss Ormsby was riding on the side of the car which was struck by the train and was the most seriously hurt. Mr. Allen escaped injury and Miss Calvert was injured only slightly. Miss Ormsby is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Ormsby, of Trumbull, Neb., her father being president of the Farmer's Exchange bank of Trumbull. She has four sisters and one brother, most of whom were at her bedside when the end came. Miss Ormsby had been teaching at Alliance for about six years. She is a cousin of Dr. James P. Rigg, of Grand Island. The body was taken to Trubull by a Hastings undertaker.
