RUSHTON, Laurens Mildred Elizabeth Richardson Rushton, age 98, of 6918 Highway 76 West, and widow of Earl Lyon Rushton, passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at her home. Born in Prosperity, SC she was the daughter of the late Henry Bowman and Bessie McGraw Richardson. She was a homemaker, a member of First Baptist Church of Laurens, and a member of The Martha Franks Baptist Singers. Surviving are two children, Stanley Earl Rushton of Sacramento, CA and Carol Ann Brown and husband Anthony of Charleston; a brother, Ned Richardson and wife Nellie of Newberry; six grandchildren, Richard Rushton of Stockton, CA, Dawn Applegate of Fountain Inn, Melody Grigsby of Rockland, CA, Bethany Rushton of Roseville, CA, David Brown of Atlanta, GA, and Laurie Wohlscheid of Charleston, SC; and fifteen great-grandchildren: Patrick, John and Ellie Wohlscheid; Avery and Aiden Rushton; Alec, Rebecca, Andrew, Henry, Benjamin, and Landon Applegate; Josiah, Aniah, and Savannah Grigsby, and Alyssa Rushton. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Rushton was predeceased by two infant children, Judith and Janice, and two sisters, Janelle Richardson and Mabel McCullough. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, on Saturday, August 24, 2013, at First Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Greenwood with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service. Memorials may be made to Laurens First Baptist Church, 300 West Main St. Laurens, SC 29360, or to First Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, 2107 Mt.
