Description	:	Mildred F. Allen On August 19, 1893, Mildred was born to Isaac and Ada Judson, on a farm southwest of Lamoni, now known as the Evergreen neighborhood. Mildred was welcomed into this life by sister, Nettie, two brothers, Leon and Glenn, and later, a younger brother, Howard. Allen On August 19, 1893, Mildred was born to Isaac and Ada Judson, on a farm southwest of Lamoni, now known as the Evergreen neighborhood. Mildred was welcomed into this life by sister, Nettie, two brothers, Leon and Glenn, and later, a younger brother, Howard. Her three brothers along with her Mother and Father have preceded her into eternal rest, but her only sister, Nettie Holloway of Lamoni remains to experience her passing. While still a young girl of eight years, Mildred was baptized into the Reorganized Chruch of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, the church for which her family moved from Michigan to Lamoni to be near its cental location. Mildred remained faithful to the teachings of this church firmly believing in its ordinances, especially the administration to the sick, and justifiably so. On August 19, 1917, both of their birthdays, Mildred was married to Wilber Allen , and through her leadings, he was brought into the church, and through their teachings, their entire family became members of this church, excepting the three children who died in early childhood. Charlotte at age three months, Maxine at age seven years and Leland at age four years. Her husband Wilber also proceeded Mildred passing in June of 1968. Theirs was a beautiful marriage, and the children remaining are four daughters, Wilberta Neal, Nina Konopasek and her husband Roy, Carol Keen and her husband Russell, Betty Hindes and her husband Charles, all of Lamoni, and a son Robert Allen and his wife Alberta of Oskaloosa, Iowa and also a dear friend George Cook of Lamoni. She also had three sons-in-law, two of whom preceded her in death, Richard Snethen and Dan Mann, and also Herbert Neal, who lives near Lamoni. Mildred has nine living grandchildren, Charlotte Balensefen, Garland Allen, David Allen, Leland Konopasek, Robert Konopasek, Donald Hindes, Crystal Yates, and Douglas Snethen. In addition to her sister, children and grandchildren, Mildred also leaves a number of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many, many friends and neighbors who always found her pleasant personality and kindly ways to make a bright spot in each day. Mildred always found time even with her large family raised in an era of financial crisis, to lend a helping hand to other friends and neighbors who were in need. Mildred passed from this phase of her life on January 28, 1981, at the age of 87 years, 5 months, and 9 days. Even though Mildred will be greatly missed by so many people, she has great assurance that she would join those of her family and friends who had gone on before, and with the life she lived, it would seem she has now been permitted to do so, now free from the stresses of this life, into one of eternal peace and rest.
