Daniel, 56, of Illinois Ave. S.W., died at about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday in St. John's Hospital following an illness of long duration. Cause of death was cancer. Mildred Heath was born September 14, 1895 at Storm Lake, Ia. She attended Buena Vista College at Storm Lake, Ia. Following that she taught school five years, attended and graduated from Iowa State college, Ames, Ia., and after graduation came to Huron where she was YWCA cafeteria director seven years. She served as supervisor of a federal meat and canning plant two seasons; was employed by the government as home management supervisor; served as district home management supervisor for eight years; and dietician at Huron College and served as girls dormitory and dining room supervisor there. At the time she became ill she was extension nutritionist at South Dakota State College. She was married December 26, 1929 to C.E. Daniel. Mrs. Daniel was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Altrusa Club, AAUW, YWCA, Huron Home Economics Homemakers and had been active in PTA work. Surviving in addition to her husband are one son, Clarence, 19, a student at South Dakota State College, her father, A.B. Heath of Newell, Ia.; four sisters, Mrs. Claus Lage, Hawarden, Ia.; Mrs. Axel Johansen, Newell, Ia.; Mrs. Harold James, Newell, Ia., and Mrs. Clyde Durey, Clinton, Ia., and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Saturday afternoon at two o'clock at the Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Joseph Gray and the Rev. Hubert Ketelle will be in charge. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
