Description	:	Mildred Jacobson Smith Huber, 94, of Laurel passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2006, at Evergreen Laurel Nursing Home, where she had resided since October of 2004. Mildred was born in Red Lodge Creek, near Roberts in Carbon County, on April 20, 1912, to John and Othilla (Aass) Ekle Jacobson. They were originally from Trondheim, Norway, and she was the fifth child (twin) of nine siblings. She attended school at the Weast School near the St. Olaf Church that they attended. They moved to Billings in October of 1919 after the death of her brother Harry. They moved to Billings in October of 1919 after the death of her brother Harry. She married Howard I. Smith on Sept. 30, 1930, in Billings. They moved to Worland, Wyoming, and later moved back to Billings until July of 1943, when they moved to Laurel. Six children were born to this union. They later divorced, and she worked at the Owl Café, Yellowstone Café, Board of Trade and the Trail Inn, all in Laurel, and the Western Café in Billings, and then retired in 1968. She married August Huber in October of 1962, and he passed away in November of 1970. Millie was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Harry, Stanley and Walter Jacobson; sisters, Dagmar Grosfield, Borgney Jacobson, Riedunn Crane and Madge Dashiell, her twin; a son, Stanley H. Smith and his wife Jacque; and great-grandson Michael Achten; sons-in-law, William Stern and Ruben Schreiner. Survivors include her 3 daughters, 2 sons, a sister, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Memorial services were held at Smith Funeral Chapel-Laurel. She was laid to rest in the Laurel Cemetery.
