Description	:	Long-time Unity resident Mildred Jean (Milly) Stump passed away on October 12, 2007, at her home in Farmington Hills, Michigan, where she has lived for the past 8 years. She was 96 years old. Milly was born on September 16, 1911, on a farm near New Galilee, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Milton and Marry Ella (Molly) Stang. She was 96 years old. Milly was born on September 16, 1911, on a farm near New Galilee, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Milton and Marry Ella (Molly) Stang. After graduating from Darlington High School in 1929, she earned her R.N. in 1933 from Rochester General Hospital in Rochester, Pennsylvania. She married Kenneth Jay Stump on December 25, 1935. They lived in Unity all of their married life. For many years, Milly was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church in East Palestine, where she was active in her Sunday School class. She was also involved with the Registered Nurses group, the Unity Grange, and the Homemakers' Club in East Palestine. Milly is survived by six of her seven children: Patricia (George) Walsh of Okemos, Michigan; Sally (Fred) Kearsley of Walla Walla, Washington; Ronald (Lucy) of Aurora, Colorado; Marjorie (Jim) Mitchell of Farmington, Michigan; Carolyn (David) Savage) of Ft. Collins, Colorado; and Richard (Lee) of Reno, Nevada. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Geoffrey Savage, Timothy Savage, David Stump, and Christina Stump Ruetz, as well as 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; her son, Robert; her sister-in-law, Zelda Stump; her parents; and six siblings, including Julia McMinn and Asenath Byes. The funeral services will take place on Tuesday, October 16th, at 11:30 a.m. at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home in East Palestine (330-426-2366). The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, tax-deductible contributions in Milly's memory may be made to the Stump Family Scholarship Fund. Persons who wish to make contributions should make their checks payable to the East Palestine Education Foundation, Inc., and identify them for the Milly Stump memorial.
