The couple then moved to Mt. Pleasant, IA to their longtime home on Locust Street. Millie worked at Kennedy’s Dairy for 11 years, while her children were in school. In 1964, she went to work as a teller at the Henry County Savings Bank. She retired in 1987. After her retirement, she continued to work part-time at the bank. Millie was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant. She loved watching high school and college sports and was an avid Cubs fan. She enjoyed gardening and delighted in raising beautiful flowers. She especially loved spending time with her family. Survivors include her husband Robert of Mt. Pleasant, IA; two daughters, Sandra (Rich) Wendel of Urbana, IA, and Carol (Bill) Calloway of Cedar Rapids, IA; a daughter-in-law, Sue Allee of Cedar Falls, IA; and one sister, Luella Fruendt of Victor, IA. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, several sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews. Millie was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Gary Allee; five sisters; one brother; and by a grandson, Matthew Wendel.
