She was born in Weston, Vt., Jan. 31, 1911, daughter of Joseph and Ada (Winn) Guyette. She was educated in the Keene school system and graduated from Keene High School in 1929. On Aug. 26, 1930, she married Donald C. Manning. They were together for 40 years before he died in August 1970. She was fortunate enough to find love once again and married Alton Horton in 1971. They were married 16 years when he died in February 1987. She liked to work. She had worked at Markem Printing Ink Co. as a product finisher in the mailing department. She worked for 17 years, retiring in 1973. As a longtime resident of Cheshire County, she had experienced more than most will ever imagine. She had lived in Westport with her son and daughter-in-law for the past eight years. She was fortunate enough to live a long and fruitful life with little regret. She loved to knit and was an avid gardener, but her priority in life was family. Nothing got in the way of making sure the family was safe and cohesive. She was a proud mother. Survivors include her children, 16 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren. Her son George Horton died in 1986, and her son Donald Manning died earlier. Her brother Joseph Guyette of Westport died in World War II, and brothers Richard Guyette and Donald Guyette, also of Westport, both died earlier. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Winchester. A reception will follow at the United Church of Winchester. There are no calling hours. Cheshire Family Funeral Home of West Swanzey is in charge of arrangements. The family has asked that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in her memory to a favorite charity.
