Mildred daughter of Lawrence and Amanda (Henke) Timperley, was born April 9, 1922, in Omaha, Nebraska. Mildred was baptized in the Lutheran Faith in Omaha, where she spent her early years and attended school through the fourth grade. Read More	Mildred Maxine Lorenzen, of Tilden, Nebraska, died Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at Community Pride Care Center, Battle Creek, Nebraska. Mildred daughter of Lawrence and Amanda (Henke) Timperley, was born April 9, 1922, in Omaha, Nebraska. Mildred was baptized in the Lutheran Faith in Omaha, where she spent her early years and attended school through the fourth grade. When the family moved to Antelope County in 1931, Mildred attended rural School District #47 near the family farm, and later graduated from Tilden High School with the Class of 1939. After receiving her education, Mildred did housework and helped do farm work for her family during World War II. On October 5, 1947, Mildred was married to Carsten P. Lorenzen at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilden. The couple was blessed with three children: Ken, Linda, and Jeanene. Mildred and Carsten raised their family and farmed southwest of Tilden, until retiring from the farm in 1984 and moving into Tilden. During her lifetime, Mildred was involved with several organizations, including the Farmerettes Extension Club, the OSH Club, the Tilden Community Hospital Auxiliary, the Boliva Card Club, the PO-KENO Club, the Tilden Senior Citizens, and the Lutheran Ladies Aid. She also served as a 4-H club leader. In her free time, Mildred enjoyed square dancing and was a member of the Oakdale club for nearly 20 years. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed her flowers, especially her roses. Mildred is survived by her husband of over 65 years, Carsten P. Lorenzen of Tilden, Nebraska; son, Ken (Linda) Lorenzen of Sutton, Nebraska; daughters, Linda (Jim) Gerding of Omaha, Nebraska, and Jeanene Lorenzen of Allen, Texas; five grandchildren, Bryan Gerding, Amanda Dora Gerding, Traci (Corey) Ebert, Jason Lorenzen, and Kristi Lorenzen; three great-grandchildren, Kellen, Kierra, and Brooks Ebert; sister-in-law, Leona Timperley of Norfolk, Nebraska; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. Mildred was preceded in death by: parents, Lawrence and Amanda Timperley and brother, Lloyd Timperley. Burial was in the Tilden City Cemetery, Tilden, Nebraska.
