The Rev. Terrill Sorensen and the Rev. Sara Sorensen will officiate. Burial will be in the Bristol Cemetery under the direction of Fiksdal Funeral Service of Webster. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, all at the funeral home in Webster. There will also be visitation prior to the service Saturday at the church in Bristol. She died Tuesday, Aug. 11, 1998, at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls. Mildred Pearl Hanson was born Dec. 18, 1916, to Fred and Cecelia (Jensen) Hanson on the family farm south of Bristol. She attended country school near her home and graduated from Bristol High School. She married Laraina "Buster" Wattier on Sept. 14, 1934, at Aberdeen. They made their home at Bristol and she worked as a reporter for the Reporter & Farmer newspaper at Webster. She was also librarian for the Bristol Library for 20 years. He died Aug. 14, 1992, and she continued to live in Bristol. She recently entered Sun Dial Manor in Bristol. She was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church in Bristol, where she sang in the church choir and a quartet and held several offices in Ladies Aide and Circle. She taught Sunday school and directed the junior choir. Survivors include one son, Larry (Leona) Wattier of Langford; three daughters, Lynn (Matt) Minninger of Bellingham, Wash., Joanne (Tom) McHugh of Portland, Maine, and Bernetta Murphy of Aberdeen; one sister, Nellie Knott of Fargo, N.D.; 16 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, five sisters and three brothers. Casketbearers will be Tim Wattier , Patrick Murphy, Scott Tobin, Dennis Murphy, Randy Murphy and Kevin Wattier .
