Millie married Harry Everett Hindman in September of 1946, at Elk Point, S.D. He owned and operated Everett's Barber Shop and was a Machinist Mate Chief in the U.S. Navy until his death in 1988. They had five children, Linda, Peggy, Debra, Michael of Ankeny, Iowa, and Rick. She loved being a mother and a homemaker and excelled in those activities. She worked various jobs throughout her life. She was employed by Metz Bakery, Standard Brands, Swifts, John Morrell and IBP packing houses. She was also employed at the Hilton Hotel in Sioux City, and McFarland Clinic in Ames, Iowa, where she relocated to in 1990 after her husband's death. She had an excellent work ethic and worked hard her entire life. Her favorite job was taking care of her three youngest grandchildren in their home in Johnston, Iowa, for many years. She enjoyed following the Democratic Party races for political offices in Iowa and the USA. Survivors include her five children and their spouses; 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Elma Mandicino; a brother-in-law, Leroy Jansen; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of Martin and Lola Stroman and had two brothers and two sisters, who all predeceased her.
