Description	:	Mildred (Mickey) Peterson, 91, of Rapid City, died Tuesday, December 14, 2004, at a local nursing home. Mildred Rosella Anderson was born February 26, 1913, at Canton, SD, the daughter of Ingvald T. (Tilford) and Emma (Gensler) Anderson. Read More	Mildred (Mickey) Peterson, 91, of Rapid City, died Tuesday, December 14, 2004, at a local nursing home. Mildred Rosella Anderson was born February 26, 1913, at Canton, SD, the daughter of Ingvald T. (Tilford) and Emma (Gensler) Anderson. She was married to Merle Peterson in July of 1933 in Keystone, SD. After their marriage, the couple lived in Keystone, SD, while Merle worked on the construction of Mt. Rushmore, to its completion. One of Mickey's fondest memories was that of taking lunch to her husband on the mountain. The couple moved to Rapid City in 1941, and she has lived the remainder of her life here. Mickey is survived by her son, Bruce Peterson (Fay) of Rapid City; two granddaughters, Tamara Hampton (Rich) and their children, Madison and Mason of Naples, FL, and Tara Peterson of Rapid City; one sister, Helen "Snooks" Wilcox (Ashley) of Coeur d'Alene, ID; one sister-in-law, Ruth Anderson, of Sturgis, SD; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merle, her parents, and two brothers, Leroy and Adolph Anderson. Mickey loved gardening and flowers of all kinds, fishing, bowling, and even liked to hunt! Mostly, she loved spending time with her family. Visitation will be at Kirk Funeral Home in Rapid City, on Sunday, December 19, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Services will be at Kirk Funeral Home on Monday, December 20, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Harold Delbridge officiating. Burial will follow at the Mountain View Cemetery, in Keystone, SD. Luncheon will follow the burial in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cathedral Hall, in Rapid City, SD. A memorial has been established to Hospice of the Hills.
