Description	:	Mildred McKee, lifelong resident of Skagit County, passed away January 27, 2009, surrounded by her family at Creekside Retirement Community in Burlington. Mildred was born May 31, 1919 to Frank and Lucretia Schweikhardt. She graduated from Mt. Vernon High School and Mt. Vernon Business College. She married Merton McKee Jr. on April 13, 1941 and they settled in Burlington. For many years, Mildred worked at Skagit Valley Telephone Company in Mt. Vernon and later Termicold Cold Storage in Burlington. She was a dedicated member of the Allen United Methodist Church, Eastern Star and the Allen Grange. Read More	Mildred McKee, lifelong resident of Skagit County, passed away January 27, 2009, surrounded by her family at Creekside Retirement Community in Burlington. Mildred was born May 31, 1919 to Frank and Lucretia Schweikhardt. She graduated from Mt. Vernon High School and Mt. Vernon Business College. She married Merton McKee Jr. on April 13, 1941 and they settled in Burlington. For many years, Mildred worked at Skagit Valley Telephone Company in Mt. Vernon and later Termicold Cold Storage in Burlington. She was a dedicated member of the Allen United Methodist Church, Eastern Star and the Allen Grange. Survivors include one sister, Opal Schroeder, of Longview; three children, Janet Michaelsen and her husband, Chris, of Seattle, Denny McKee and his wife, Karin, of Olympia, and Dr. Roger McKee and his wife, Claudia, of Burlington; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Mert, and by three brothers, Orville, Glen and Don Schweikhardt, all of Longview, WA. Funeral services will be held at 2pm Saturday, January 31 at Hulbush Funeral Home, 281 South Burlington Blvd, Burlington. Interment will follow in the Burlington Cemetery.
