Mildred was born Nov. 27, 1904, the second of twin daughters of Bernard and Sarah Orr Streeper. She went to school in Onslow through the 8th grade and then attended Maquoketa, Iowa High School for her Normal Training and earned her teaching certificate, graduating in 1923. She later attended Cornell College summer school from 1927 to 1933. In all, she taught for 40 years. She was awarded the prestigious Freedom Foundation at Valley Forge Classroom Medal in recognition of her continued contributions to the school, community and church in Onslow. On June 15, 1960, she married Grey Dreibelbis in Tipton. He died in 1969. Mildred lived her entire life in the Onslow and Center Junction area until entering the care center in 1991. She was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church in Onslow, the church women, Order of Eastern Star Peerless Chapter 435 of Oxford Junction, Altrutian Club of Onslow and Jones County Historical Society. She never had children of her own but taught several generations in the Onslow/Center Junction area and was a major influence in the lives of many people. She is survived by three nephews, Russel and Bernard Streeper, both of Onslow, and Robert Streeper of Marion. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three sisters, twin Mabel and Ruth and Jennie; a brother, Alva, a stepdaughter, Donna Conmey; and a stepgrandson, William Conmey.
