He was born Aug. 3, 1883, at Birmingham, to Oscar and Mary Lawson Bradford and had lived in Ottumwa most of his life. He was a 50-year member of Empire Masonic Lodge and a member of Local 199 of the Bus Drivers Union. He married Altha M. Bates on Oct. 7, 1907, at Fairfield. She survives. Also surviving are one son, Camen L. Bradford (sic. Carmen L. Bradford) of Ottumwa; one brother, Harry E. Bradford of El Monte, Calif.; and one sister, Velma Clark of Ottumwa. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter and by four brothers and two sisters. The service will be Thursday at 3 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Cecil Simonton of Davis Street Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be George Rumph, Edgar Lovell, Francis Watts, Charles Canny, Donald Mooney and Carl Chisman. A Masonic service will be held at the funeral chapel following the funeral service. The casket will be closed at the beginning of the service.
