Edgar, 74 of Atlantic were held at the Massena Center Cemetery on Saturday, September 10, 1988 at 10 a.m. Miss Edgar passed away Thursday, September 8 at the Atlantic Care Center where she had resided for quite sometime. Officiating at the services was Pastor Larry R. McConnell of Des Moines. Pallbearers were Kirk Hall, Rick Harper, Dan Larsen, and Clair Harper. Millie Elizabeth Edgar, daughter of James and Rose Schwenke Edgar, was born in Lincoln Township, Cass County, Iowa, January 27, 1914. Millie graduated from Massena High School in 1933 and taught in rural schools in Massena, Victoria, and Grant townships for a number of years. She worked at a nursing home in Atlantic for a time and had lived in the family home in Massena in recent years until December of 1986 when failing health confined her to the Atlantic Care Center in Atlantic, Iowa. She is survived by one sister, Freda Edgar of Massena, Iowa; three nephews and a niece. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Ada Ruth Hall and Regina Harper.
