Read More	Source: Montezuma Newspaper Obituary Millie Austin Moore Was born August 10, 1868 at Mayfield, Illinois and departed this life August 12, 1914, at the age of 46 years , and 2 days. She was married to W. J. Moore November 18, 1895 and to this union were born two sons, Hobart A. and one sons who died in infancy. She was of very cheerful disposition and tried to conceal her sufferings and sickness from her many friends. None of the neighbors or relatives thought the end so near, but she peacefully fell to sleep with out a struggle. He death being doubly sad by following her sister less then three months. Three years ago the family moved to Montezuma hoping she might regain her health but all that loving hands and medical aid could do were of no avail. She united with the Christian Church November 20, 1903 under the pastorate of Rev. J. H. Stark. She leaves to mourn her death her sorrowing husband, and son, one sister, Mrs. William Law of Montezuma, and one sister, Mrs. J. H. Grier and two brothers, Charles and George Austin of Ocheyedan, Iowa. Rev. Peter Jensen, of Des Moines, conducted the funeral services at the home on Friday afternoon. A large number of old friends and neighbor were present. Interment was made in the Montezuma cemetery. Among those present from a distance were Mrs. J. H. Grier and Mr. and Mrs. George Austin, Ocheyedan, Iowa. Mrs. T. C. Hall and son of Hampton, Iowa, Mr and Mrs. Alex Moore, of Clarion, Iowa, Mrs Hugh Moore, Mrs. John Gilbrath of Tilton, Mrs. Birdie Smith and daughter, Mrs. Jane Baker and son and Mrs. James Moore and son of Thornburg. Isaac Crisman, of Des Moines, a brother-in-law, arrived after the services. True all we know must die, Though none can tell the exact appointed hour; Nor should it cost the virtuous heart a sigh, Whether death doth crush the oak or nip the opening flower.
