STRIVENS EXPRES SATURDAY Woman of Hartington Community Dies at Hospital in Omaha, Funeral Wednesday Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon for Mrs. Carl Strivens of the Hartington community, who died Saturday evening at the University hospital in Omaha where she had been a patient one week. The deceased had been in failing health during the past year. Following a severe attack of the flu, her health failed rapidly. Saturday prior to her death she entered the hospital in Omaha for medical treatment and observation. At the time of her death, her husband was at her bedside. Millie May Coulter was born on AUgust 14, 1902, on a farm seven miles north of Randolph. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Coulter, residents of the Randolph community. The family resided in the Randolph community untl daughter was seven years of age and they moved to South Dakota where they resieded a number of years. Later the family members returned to Cedar county and again located near Randolph. Miss Coulter with her two brothers, Floyd and Irvin, attended the Mabeus rural school and were members of the Methodist Sunday School of Randolph. Miss Coulter was united in m arriage to Carl S. Strivens, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Strivens, on July 29, 1922. Following their marriage, they made their home for a number of years on a farm near Randolph. Five years ago Mr. and Mrs. Strivens and family moved to a farm southwest of Hartington where they now reside. Mrs. Strivens was a member of the Social Circle, an organization of the ladies of the Andrew locality. Survivors are her widower, five children, Robert, Don, Mildred, Clifford and Luella, of near Hirtington; her parents, Mrs. and Mrs. Robert Coulter, and two brothers, Floyd and Irvin of Randolph; besides a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at the Strivens home at 1 o'clock Wednesday afternoon with Rev. w. S. Rowden, pastor of the First Congregational church of Coleridge, officiating. Burial was made in the Coleridge cemetery.
