Description	:	Milo Hochstedler, 89, Kokomo, died at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010 at his home. He was born Oct. 24, 1920 in Howard County, a son of John C. Hochstedler and Mattie (Smucker) Hochstedler. He married Mary (Miller) Hochstedler Jan. 23, 1941, by Andrew Swartzentruber, in the home of Abe Bontregor, and she survives. He attended Greentown Schools. Milo and Mary lived in Brown County from 1951 until 1966, where he helped start Bean Blossom Mennonite Church. Hochstedler and Mattie (Smucker) Hochstedler. He married Mary (Miller) Hochstedler Jan. 23, 1941, by Andrew Swartzentruber, in the home of Abe Bontregor, and she survives. He attended Greentown Schools. Milo and Mary lived in Brown County from 1951 until 1966, where he helped start Bean Blossom Mennonite Church. He had farmed and in 1965 he began Hochstedler Insulation which later became Hochstedler Energy Services. He was a member of Parkview Mennonite Church, president of Mennonite Benevolent Association from 1978 to 1981, Greentown Historical Society, Mennonite Disaster Service, Habitat for Humanity, Mennonite Relief Sale and the Howard-Miami Heritage Society. Milo loved music and taught his children and other young people to sing harmony, played the harmonica and in his younger days the accordion. He also enjoyed woodworking. Survivors include his wife, Mary; four sons, Marvin (Ivette) Hochstedler, Mesa, Ariz., Bob (Rachael) Hochstedler, Sturgis, Mich., Jim (Elsie) Hochstedler, Gillman, Wis., and Neil Hochstedler, Vershire, Vt, one daughter, Ruth (Tom) Andrews, Kokomo; a daughter-in-law, Ruth Reber; grandchildren Melissa (Kevin) Knighton, Reuben (Tammy) Alexander, Ben (Sarah) Hochstedler, Mark Hochstedler, Elizabeth (Aaron) Hannah, Jessica Andrews, Elanna Reber and nine great-grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, Noah, Willis, Emanuel, Jacob and Melvin; a daughter, Elizabeth; a son, Eli; two grandchildren, Ryan and Jeremy; and daughter-in -law Martha "Muffin." Services are at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Howard-Miami Mennonite Church, county roads 600 North and 700 East in Howard County or county roads 400 East and 1400 South in Miami County. Officiants are Lillian and Jacob Elias. Visitation is 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the church and one hour prior to the service Monday. Burial will be in Hochstedler Family Cemetery following the services.
