Purinton 1 Pioneer Passed Away The death of Milo Purinton occurred early Sunday morning of consumption, after an illness of two or three years. His death had long been expected, yet his wonderful vitality served him will and he lived long beyond the expectation of all who knew his condition. Mr. Purinton was born in Canada in 1849, and came to this county almost 80 years ago, where he eve since resided, and most of that time on the farm in Riverton township, where he died. The funeral as held Tuesday at 2 p.m., at the Friends church in this city; a very appropriate and impressive sermon being preached by Rev. N.C. Harvey, of Greenville, a very close friend of the deceased. The Friends church was packed to its capacity, and though the day was rainy, cold and dismal, a large number of his old neighbors and friends drove in to pay their respects to him whom they had honored and loved during his long residence among them. Milo Purinton was a good man, no man in the community had the confidence of the people to a great degree than he; all recognized his word as good as his bond, and by precept and example he stood for what is best. In his death the community sustained a serious loss. The family have the sympathy of a large circle of friends in their sure bereavement.
