Description	:	Milton DeWayne Menefee, 78, of Denver, Iowa, died Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. Milton was born January 7, 1938, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Wesley S. and Lorena M. (Dieckmann) Menefee. In 1966, Milton moved to Denver where he made his home with his parents. Milton was born January 7, 1938, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Wesley S. and Lorena M. (Dieckmann) Menefee. In 1966, Milton moved to Denver where he made his home with his parents. Milton is survived by one brother, James and Kathryn of Lakeland, Florida, sister-in-law, LaVonne Menefee of Waverly, Iowa; two nieces, Margo Menefee and Jenny Lehman; four nephews, James Menefee, Jr., Bradley Menefee, Norman Menefee and Charles Menefee. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, William D. Menefee. Milton was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Denver. He was also a very active member of the Denver Lions Club, where he helped with the Lions Baseball, Softball and Summer ball programs. Milton was actively involved with numerous organizations around Denver including the American Legion, Denver Community School and Denver Public Library. He regularly volunteered at local blood drives, Goodwill Stores, and the Salvation Army. Milton also gave generously to local projects, most recently the donation of the portable fence for the ball fields and was a major donor for the swimming pool remodel in 2010. In 2011, Milton was recognized as "Iowan of the Day" at the Iowa State Fair. This program honors individuals from across the state that have made a major difference in others' lives while upholding characteristics such as dependability, integrity, hard work and sense of community. This was Milton, a man who was always reaching out to help others. Public Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, June 6, 2016, at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Denver. A Private Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Denver with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Waterloo.
