Milton was born Oct. 20, 1928, on his grandfather's homestead 16 miles south of Beulah, a son of Phillip and Frieda (Buelow) Flemmer. He was raised there and was educated in a rural school, one mile north of the homestead. Milton served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953. On March 1, 1953, he married Anita B. Bauer at New Salem. They farmed and ranched on his grandfather's homestead. In 1971, they moved to Beulah and Milt continued farming and ranching with his son until he became ill. He was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, Beulah, the Herman Schmidt V.F.W. Post No. 7759 of Beulah, and had served on the Beulah City Council for a number of years. Milt enjoyed working, hunting, trapping and visiting with friends over coffee. He will be remembered for his wit, sense of humor, optimism and his loyalty to God, his family and community. Milt fulfilled his dream of raising buffalo. He is survived by his wife, Anita; three daughters and sons-in-law, Sandi and Larry Schnaidt, and Lorie and Larry Steffen, all of Beulah, and Bonnie and Mike Haupt, Bismarck; two sons and daughters-in-law, Stan and Ginger Flemmer, and Larry and Julie Flemmer, all of Beulah; 13 grandchildren; one sister, Erma Voegele, Bismarck; and one brother and sister-in-law, Art and Lucille Flemmer, Beulah. Milton was preceded in death by his parents and one brother-in-law, Adam Voegele. (Seibel Funeral Home, Beulah)
