Funeral services were held 10:30 Tuesday morning, October 24 at Wayne Zion Lutheran Church, rural Monticello, with interment in the Oakwood Cemetery, Monticello. Milton Henry Harms was born November 8, 1924 in Scotch Grove Township, Jones County, on the Bohlken family farm. He was the son of Henry and Minnie Bohlken Harms, Milton graduated from Monticello Community Schools in 1943. He went on to serve in the United States Army during WWII. Milton returned to farm the Bohlken family farm. Milton Harms and Helen Kopp were married August 6, 1950 at the First Presbyterian Church, Monticello. The couple lived on the farm until Milton's 75 birthday when they moved to their home in Monticello. Milton was a life-long member of the Wayne Zion Lutheran Church where he was baptized. He confirmed his faith on April 2, 1939. Milton was also a member of the Burns Lodge and a life member of the VFW. Milton's wit and gentle tail twisting will be missed by his family and many friends. Surviving are his wife, Helen; one daughter, Kathy (Eric) Frostestead, Lee's Summit, MO; three grandchildren, Kristofer, Ethan and Kalyn and one sister, Evelyn Pickerell, Cedar Rapids. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial fund has been established. The Goettsch Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
