Description	:	Milton K. Mathers, aged almost 94 years, died at the residence of his son, Richard J. Mathers, North Strabane township, at 8:30 o'clock Tuesday evening. He probably was the oldest resident of this community,. For some time he had been in failing health, and his death was not unexpected. For some time he had been in failing health, and his death was not unexpected. Mr. Mathers was born near Perryopolis, Fayette county, May 3, 1822, his birth taking place just four days later than the birth of Ulysses S. Grant at Point Pleasant, Ohio. When 22 years of age Mr.. Mathers came to Washington county, and for 57;years resided at McPhersons Mill in Cecil township, where he carried on farming. In 1901 he moved to North Strabane township and since that time made his home with his son. His wife died February 22, 1913. Surviving Mr. Mathers are a son and four daughters: Mrs. Annie E. Matthews, who for ten years has been the head matron at the Allegheny county poor home, Woodville; Richard K. Mathers, Canonsburg R. D. 2; Mrs. Charles Crum, Cecil township; Miss Ella Mathers, McMurray, and Mrs. M. H. White, Canonsburg R. D. 1 2. Two sons, George and Frank, and a daughter Mrs. Milton Douglass, are deceased. Mr. Mathers had been a member of the Greenside Avenue United Presbyterian Church for many years, and at the time of his death he was the oldest member of the congregation. Funeral services will be held at the home of Richard J. Mathers on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock Burial will be in Speer Spring cemetery.
