Milton Robert Kreifels was born on January 23, 1930 in Otoe County, NE; the son of Robert and Nora (Heng) Kreifels. Bob graduated from Nebraska City High School. He was united in marriage to Mary Esser on February 1, 1951 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Nebr. City, NE. Bob spent his life doing what he loved, farming. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the Eagles. Bob's life was a personal journey he shared with anyone who wanted to travel the path with him. He never missed an opportunity to graciously bestow kindness and help others. Throughout Bob's life he remained engaged, energetic and enthusiastic about his family, friends, and farming. When life presented challenges and obstacles, he accepted them. Bob knew happiness (particularly when it involved his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren) and was a man of character respected by those who knew him. Bob lived a good life, did what was right, and made life a little easier for others whenever he could by doing the things that mean so much. In his own way, he shared our joys and sorrows, and our successes and disappointments, and we couldn't ask for anything more. His life holds true meaning for us. Truly, one man can make a difference. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 59 years, Mary Kreifels of Nebr. City, NE; his children: Bill Kreifels and wife Jane of Nebr. City, NE; Peggy Groff and husband Rodney of Auburn, NE; Jackie Kriefels and husband Tim of Atlantic, IA; Beverly Musiel and husband Dave of Lincoln, NE; Phillip Kreifels and wife Terrie of Spring, TX and Matthew Kreifels and wife Cindy of Nebr. City, NE; 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; siblings: Norma Jean Gress and husband Melvin of Nebr. City, NE; LeRoy Kreifels and wife Velda of Nebr. City, NE; sister-in-law: Marlene Esser of Riverton, IA; brother-in-law: Jerry Esser and wife Pam of Nebr. City, NE; and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Nora Kreifels; his mother and father-in-law Hank and Ida Esser; sister-in-law Donna Cerny and husband John and brother-in-law Steve Esser. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Rural Nebr. City, NE with Fr. Thomas Bush officiating; burial to follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening at Gude Mortuary followed by the family greeting friends. Memorials are suggested to the family.
