Read More	SFC US ARMY WORLD WAR II ROCKLAND – Milton Shattuck "Clarkie" Clark, 85, died after a long illness, Friday, July 14, 2006 surrounded by his loving family at his home. Born Nov. 6, 1920, in South Thomaston, he was the son of George S. and Mary Van Horn Clark. He was educated in local schools. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1939. While serving as a Tech Sergeant in German during World War II, Mr. Clark reenlisted for another two year tour. He was honorably discharged in 1947. For 38 years Mr. Clark enjoyed a career at F.J. O'Hara & Sons in Rockland as a Freezer Foreman. In 1951 Milton married Beatrice Josselyn in Camden. He was a long time member of the V.F.W. Post No. 2499. Milton enjoyed life-long friendships with Buster and Alice Cochran, LouAnn Kinney, Kari Barlow, Mark Peterson and their families. Mr. Clark was predeceased by two brothers, Robert Alley, Orrin Clark; a grandson Jamie Bowen; a granddaughter Melissa Webb; and a son-in-law Gene Hallowell. He is survived by his wife Beatrice, who he affectionately called "Febee" of Rockland; his sister Marion Williams of Cumberland, Rhode Island; five children Mary Hallowell of Coopers Mills, Milton C. Clark of Rockland, Monica Bowen and her husband Daniel of Rockland, Melinda Dennison and her husband David of Thomaston, Barbara Nickerson and her husband James of South Thomaston; his grandchildren Jimmy Hallowell and his wife Missy, Kristy Wellman, Chucky Clark, Frank and Joshua Bowen, Lisa Brannan, Jennifer Collins and her husband Kegan, Buffy Kelley and her husband Bobby, Bruce Sidelinger, Allen, Mandy, David, Jr. and Cheryl Dennison, Billie Jo Stewart and her husband Jared, Leah Nickerson; his great-grandchildren Nathan Hallowell, Richard Thompson, Ally Smith, Allie, Misty and Sierra Bowen, Amy and Sara Brannan, Travis, Cody, Jessica and Andrew McKenzie, Julian and Chloe Dennison, Heather Hamilton; great-great- grandchildren Alex O'Brien, Deja Benner; many nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law.
