Description	:	Milton Thayne Swanson, 73, of Minden died Friday, Feb. 18, 2011, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Milton was born on April 14, 1937, in Fullerton to Milford and Faye (Weeks) Swanson. Survivors are: wife, Ramona Swanson of Minden; daughters and sons-in-law, Lori and Walt Larsen of York, Lisa and Mike Reynolds of Pflugerville, Texas and Denise and Eric Porter of Johnson City, Texas; five grandchildren, one great-granddaughter: sister, Pat Lee of Fullerton and mother in-law, Martha Maddox of St. Paul. Milton was born on April 14, 1937, in Fullerton to Milford and Faye (Weeks) Swanson. Survivors are: wife, Ramona Swanson of Minden; daughters and sons-in-law, Lori and Walt Larsen of York, Lisa and Mike Reynolds of Pflugerville, Texas and Denise and Eric Porter of Johnson City, Texas; five grandchildren, one great-granddaughter: sister, Pat Lee of Fullerton and mother in-law, Martha Maddox of St. Paul. Milton was preceded in death by his parents. Mlton grew up in the North Star community in Nance County and graduated from Fullerton High School. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1956 until 1958. Milton married Ramona Maddox on Oct. 4, 1959 and they made their home in Minden. He worked for Mervin Peterson at Kearney County Farm Supply and later worked at Minden Grain. In 1982, Milton was injured by a falling tree and suffered a spinal cord injury. After his injury he remained very independent and was an inspiration to all who knew him. Milton was a member of the First Christian Church in Minden and had served on many committees within the church. He also enjoyed his hobby of woodcarving and making angels after his accident.
