Description	:	The community of Billings was saddened Thursday, June 18th, when the message came from the Lockwood Clinic,Toronto, that Mr. Milton Dearing had passed away in his 56th year. Mr. Dearing had been ailing for sometime and about six weeks previous to his death, finally consented to physical checkup. Dr. McQuay finding the case quite serious, he was ordered to bed immediately, and in four weeks' time was moved to Toronto Lockwood Clinic for a goitre operation. Mr. Dearing had been ailing for sometime and about six weeks previous to his death, finally consented to physical checkup. Dr. McQuay finding the case quite serious, he was ordered to bed immediately, and in four weeks' time was moved to Toronto Lockwood Clinic for a goitre operation. After a couple of weeks rest from the strenuous trip they operated and found it an extremely bad case of Toxic Thyroid. Immediately they operated, the poison went into the blood,causing an inflammation of the lining of one of the lower cavities of the heart, gradually tightening the muscles to the extent of causing his death. Friends who called on him remarked how enduring and cheerful he was to the last. The late Mr. Dearing was born at Ice Lake, Ontario, on April 14th, 1887, the youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Dearing. On June 14th, 1911, he married Emma Jane, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.George Tustian of Billings township, and resided on a farm on the townline of Billings for nine years, later purchasing a farm on the eighth concession of Billings, known as the J. W. Foster farm,where together they toiled, making a comfortable home. Mr. Dearing was a good neighbour and given to genial hospitality which won for him a host of friends. He was a member of the United Church. On Sunday, June 21st, after a short service at the house, they proceeded to the United Church of Billings, where the funeral service was conducted by Rev. H. W. Strapp. The choir sang an anthem, "Have Thine Own Way Lord". Mr. Ralph Wiber sang a solo, "Tell it to Jesus ," two of his favorite hymns. Interment was made in Kagawong cemetery.The pallbearers were: Messrs. William Baille, Morgan Bowser,John Green,Harlow Baille, Abe. Wilson Jr., and Robert Brown . Mr. Dearing leaves to mourn his loss his wife, and six daughters,namely; Mrs. Albert Shephard (Irene), Mrs. Clarence Taylor (Leta), Mrs.Godfrey Shelswell (Dorothy), all residing in Sudbury; Mrs. Charles Gibson (Merle) now on the home farm, Repha and Geraldine also at home. An infant son, Clifford George Edward, predeceased him twenty-six yearsago. There are four grandchildren, sister, Mrs. William Dearing (Ella) of Toronto. Please note, Although a birth record has not as yet been found, the death record shows 1887 so some records show 1886 and some 1887.
