Mrs. Simpson was driving the tractor along the road, one-fourth mile south of her home, when a steel crowbar, five feet long, jarred loose from the tractor and stuck in the road, pinning her leg to the tractor pedals causing a compound fracture. Tractor Accident Proves Fatal Mrs. Mina Simpson, wife of Cecil J. Simpson, 66, who was involved in a tractor accident near her farm home seven miles north of Robinson, on September 3, died Saturday, September 15, 1962, at the Missouri Methodist Hospital in St. Joseph, Mo. Mrs. Simpson was brought to the Hiawatha Community Hospital immediately following the accident and was transferred to the Missouri Methodist Hospital Friday, September 14. A native of Hamlin, Kans., Mrs. Simpson was a member of the Hamlin Baptist Church, the Rainbo Club and other organizations. Her survivors include her husband of the home, a sister, Mrs. Alta Benson of Hiawatha; three brothers, Craig Stapleton of Omaha, Nebr., Ray Stapleton of Hamlin and Glen Stapleton of DeSoto, Kans. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, September 18, at the Hamlin Baptist Church, with the Rev. Floyd Webber officiating. Burial will be in the Hamlin cemetery. Obituary STAPLETON—Mina Isabel Stapleton, daughter of William and Belle Stapleton was born July 30, 1896 on a farm east of Hamlin and passed away at the Missouri Methodist Medical Center in St. Joseph, Mo., Saturday, September 15, at 11:30 a.m. following surgery from an accident. She was married to Cecil Simpson January 15, 1919. She leaves to mourn, her husband of the home, a sister, Mrs. Alta Benson, Hiawatha, Kans., three brothers, Craig Stapleton, Omaha, Nebr., Ray Stapleton, Hamlin, Glenn Stapleton, DeSoto, Kans., a niece, Mrs. Virginia Ruth of Robinson, Kans., who made her home with them for a short time, nieces, nephews, relatives and a host of friends. Mina was a loyal, active member of the Hamlin Baptist Church all of her life. She was a teacher of Sunday school classes, president of the Woman's Mission Society, an active member of the church choir, also held various offices in the Northeast Baptist Association.
