She with her husband lived here summers for four years, he being one of the engineers on one of the steamers. Three years ago last spring they left for [Cheyenne] Wyoming and settled on a claim. There they went through all the inconvenience of pioneer life. Last winter they lost their little three year old boy [Harry]. Mrs. Wagner made many friends while among us who mourn her untimely death. Besides her husband, she leaves a little two-year-old daughter [Hazel and twin baby girls [Mable Marie and Helen] only a few days old. Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Roff of this place will have one of the babies as requested by her mother before her death. The heartfelt sympathy of this community go out to the bereaved relatives." [The Spirit Lake Beacon, Oct. 29, 1914.] --------- Mrs. Roy Roff Mrs. Roy Roff, nee Mina Frank, was born in Brooklyn, Iowa, January 11, 1882, and passed away Wednesday, July 6, in the Dickinson County Memorial Hospital after an illness of one week. Mr. and Mrs. Rolf were married September 14, 1907, in Mason City and came to the lake region when she was a bride. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house September 15, 1957. Mrs. Roff had served as president of both the Friends and Methodist aid societies and was a member of the Pythian Sisters. She is survived by her husband, Roy, a daughter, Mrs. W. C. Larson, a granddaughter; Becky Ann Larson of Wilmington, California, and a sisier, Mrs. Carrie Meeker, and invalid, of Tama. Funeral services were held Friday, July 8, at 2 p.m. at the Leyson Funeral Home with the Rev. R. C. Walker officiating. Interment was made in the Okoboji cemetery. Mrs. James Bonstefcter was soloist and sang, "In The Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross" with Mrs. E. L. Maas at the organ. Floral tributes were cared for by Mrs. Tom Olson and Mrs. John Lucht. Pallbearers were Fred Wilson, Harry Wilson, Ted Gipner, Franklin Little, Bob Snyder and K. B.
