Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery. Mrs. Somers died April 24 at her home of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. She was born May 23, 1915, in Pinto, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Swope. She attended Pinto schools and college in Dillon. She taught school in southeastern Montana. On May 24, 1939, she married Leonard Somers. She continued to teach and they ranched in the Moorhead area until 1963, when they moved to the Broadus area. They had lived in Minnesota for several years before returning to Broadus. Survivors include two daughters, Patsy Drum of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Sandy Smith of Sonnette; two sons, Larry of Charleston, S.C., and Terry of Edgemont, S.D.; four brothers, Fred of Lonepine, Sherman of Winifred, Roy of Broadus and Jack of Miles City; two sisters, Eleanor Roots of Saint Regis and Betty Krezelok of Augusta; and five grandchildren."
