Smith, died at 1 o'clock Sunday afternoon in a Norfolk hospital from burns she suffered shortly after midnight Saturday when she apparently fell asleep while smoking a cigaret which set fire to her bed at her home at 114 South Fourteenth street. He arrived in Norfolk Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Smith was born Sept. 12, 1898, on a farm in Pierce county, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Lierman. She attended a parochial school in Pierce, and was confirmed in the Lutheran faith in 1912. She also attended Norfolk grade school and high school, and was employed her by several real estate firsm. Shw was married Dec. 28, 1928 to Mr. Smith, following which they made their home in Norfolk. Surviving are her husband, her mother, Mrs. Alvina Lierman; two sisters, Mrs. Fred Johnson, Norfolk, and Mrs. Elsie Schultz, O'Neill. She was preceded in death by her father.
