Read More	Obituary---Minnie Belle Stalcup Brawner Minnie Belle Stalcup was born at the family homestead near Burrton, Kansas. July, 7, 1890, and died at Grace Hospital, Hutchinson, at 2:24 p.m. Saturday December 7 being 39 yrs. and 5 months old. She has spent the larger part of her life here. Wife of Virtus Roy Brawner of Route No. 2, Burrton She was married to Virtus Roy Brawner of Hennessey, Oklahoma, July 20, 1919. They spent the first two years of their married life near Hennessey. They then came back to Burrton and have lived here or near here ever since. Three children were born to the union, The first child, a son, died at birth. The other two, Anna Belle, 5 years old, and Verda Mae 3 years old, with the husband and father survive. She leaves also to mourn her going one sister, Mrs. Ruby VanBuren, and two brothers, Bonnie L. and Harold Stalcup all of this community and present today. These with their families and other relatives are left to mourn her departure from this life. The father passed away just six days before, possibly as a result of his anxiety and faithfulness in helping to care for his daughter. In addition to these relatives two brothers and two sisters of Bro. Brawner are here today to comfort their bereaved brother. She united with the Christian church as a girl and was a faithful and consistent member until her death. She had been ill for many weeks and everything possible was done for her but recovery was impossible and so she has gone to the heavenly home to join the loved ones there and to wait the coming of other loved ones. She realized shortly before she died that she could not get well that she could not get well and come home with him but was going to be with her mother. And so she has gone where there is no more pain or suffering and where there is no more death--to live on and on forever because she believed in Jesus the Christ. Mrs. Brawner was a member of the Royal Neighbors Lodge of Burrton and a large number of her fellow-members were in attendance at the funeral service to pay their last respects. Funeral services were conducted at the Christian church by her pastor, W. L. Martin, assisted by Rev. C. L. Miller, of the U. B. church, and Rev. Geo. C. Stewart of the Patterson Baptist church.
