Mrs. Minnie Allen, a member of a pioneer Chico family, died at the home of her brother-in-law, C.L. Crowder, on Laburnum street near Third avenue, Chico Vecino, this afternoon at 2 o'clock after an illness of over a month. Mrs. Allen was 33 years of age and a native of this city, where she had resided all her life. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. H.J. Clayton, prominent ranchers of the Pine creek section. For a number of years she held a position as bookkeeper for the Sears-Farnum company and later for the Sears-Masterson company. She was a member of several local fraternal orders and had many friends. "Deceased is survived by her widower, Oscar Allen; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H.J. Clayton; two sisters, Mrs. C.L. Crowder of Chico and Mrs. Clara Coon of Durham, and two brothers, Guy Clayton and Leo Clayton of this city. There are a number of other relatives in this section. "The funeral will be held from the Crowder home on Laburnum street tomorrow afternoon at 1 o'clock and interment will be made in the Pine Creek cemetery, near Cana. Rev.
