Mrs. Minnie Collier Teal, died at her home Tuesday, December 21, after a brave battle with pneumonia. Mrs. Teal was taken sick a week ago Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs. Maggie Fernald. Minnie Collier was born in Shelburn, Indiana, February 16, 1876, and came with her parents to Cowley county, Kansas when three years of age, and has lived in this community since that time. In August 1894 she was united in marriage to Edgar G. Teal who preceded her in death May 19th, of this year. Mrs. Teal was a member of the First Presbyterian church of Arkansas City and was ever faithful to her church and loyal to her friends. She is survived by three brothers, J.B. Collier of Redwood City, Calif.; R.E. Collier of Waco, Texas, and O.T. Collier of Arkansas City, who was with her when she died. Funeral services were held at the home Thursday afternoon. Dr. W.M. Gardner of Joplin, Mo., formerly pastor of the Presbyterian church at Geuda Springs and Arkansas City, delivered the funeral sermon. Burial was made in the Geuda Springs cemetery.
