Description	:	Mrs. D. S. Davis, a native of this city, died yesterday afternoon at her home in Waxhaw after an illness of less than 24 hours. Death resulted from ptomaine poisoning, which is believed to have resulted from the circumstance that ice cream was served at dinner and fish for supper at the home of Mrs. Davis Sunday. Read More	Mrs. D. S. Davis, a native of this city, died yesterday afternoon at her home in Waxhaw after an illness of less than 24 hours. She ate of both and soon after supper became ill. Mrs. Davis was formerly Miss Minnie Gray of this city. She was the daughter of the late W. H. Gray and Mrs. Julia S. Gray of 204 South Myers street. Mrs. Gray and her two daughters, Mrs. F. A. Martin and Miss Margaret Gray, left here by automobile for Waxhaw yesterday but arrived too late. Mrs. Davis was educated at the Presbyterian College for Women and was graduated from it. She taught a few years in Albemarle and at Waxhaw. She was married here to Mr. D. S. Davis, and after residing a few years at Albemarle, has since lived in Waxhaw. She is survived by her husband and four children: Danny, Jefferson, Frances and an infant only a few weeks old. In addition to her mother and sisters there are four brothers, Messrs. R. S. Gray of Miami, Fla., E. R. Gray of Spartanburg, E. S. and W. T. Gray of Charlotte. Mrs. Davis was a consistent member of the Waxhaw Methodist Church and was admired and loved by many friends. She was 34 years old. Her death when she was just entering the prime of womanhood is perculiarly sad. The funeral service will be conducted in Waxhaw this morning by the pastor of the Methodist Church. The remains will be brought to Charlotte this morning shortly before noon and will be taken at once to Elmwood Cemetery, where interment will be made. The Waxhaw pastor will accompany the party here.
