Description	:	Mrs. Minnie Cummings passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Elmer E. Place, in this city, Sunday, May 31st. Until about six weeks ago she had enjoyed good health, but at that time she took suddenly ill and until her death suffered a great deal. Minnie Jane Willott was born March 6, 1843 in England. To this union were born three sons and one daughter, one child who... Read More	Mrs. Minnie Cummings passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Elmer E. Place, in this city, Sunday, May 31st. Until about six weeks ago she had enjoyed good health, but at that time she took suddenly ill and until her death suffered a great deal. Minnie Jane Willott was born March 6, 1843 in England. The following year, her parents came to America, locating at Rockton, Illinois. On October 11th, 1871, she was united in marriage at Sharon, Wisconsin, to Robert Cummings. To this union were born three sons and one daughter, one child who died in infancy, William H. of Loretto, Nebr.; Mrs. Elmer Place, of Albion and Robert F. of Pantano, Arizona. Mr. and Mrs. Cummings made their home for a time at Capron, Illinois, and in the fall of 1872, came to Boone county, Nebraska, locating on a homestead a mile and a quarter north of Albion. Mr. Cummings served for six years as one of the county commissioners. His death occurred in 1888. She was a faithful member of the Congregational church of this city and was a charter member of the Eastern Star, Loyal Ladies and G. A. R. Her memory will be cherished by those who knew her. She is survived by her two sons, two brothers and one sister, thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the home of Elmer E. Place, Tuesday afternoon, in charge of her pastor, C. D. Shoemaker. Burial was made in Rose Hill cemetery. (Albion Weekly News – Albion, Nebraska – June 4, 1925)
