Description	:	Minnie Mae Cohoon Snell, 94, of Creswell died early Saturday, October 24, at the home of her daughter in the Pea Ridge Community where she had resided for the past few years. Born in the Gum Neck Community of Tyrrell county on August 31, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Minnie Combs Cohoon. She was married to Worth Snell who preceded her in death in 1998. Read More	Minnie Mae Cohoon Snell, 94, of Creswell died early Saturday, October 24, at the home of her daughter in the Pea Ridge Community where she had resided for the past few years. Born in the Gum Neck Community of Tyrrell county on August 31, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Minnie Combs Cohoon. She was married to Worth Snell who preceded her in death in 1998. Mrs. Snell worked for a number of years at the former Columbia Hospital and later worked with the Pettigrew Library System at the Tyrrell County Public Library in Columbia. She was a member of the Creswell Baptist Church and was a founding member of Order of Eastern Star, Columbia Chapter #281 where she had served as Worthy Matron and held most other offices through her 60 years of service. She is survived by two daughters, Sue S. Woodley and husband, Sam of Rocky Mount and Kay S. Davenport and husband, Bill of the Pea Ridge Community, Roper; three grandchildren, Samuel Woodley III, Ruth Ann Woodley and Bobby Ray Davenport; two great-grandchildren, Jamie Davenport and Rebecca Davenport. She was preceded in death by her siblings: brothers, Milton, Carl, Lem, Worth, Elwood, Herman and Willie Cohoon; and sisters, Mildred Cohoon, Annie Williams and Cora Cohoon. A funeral service was held Tuesday at Bryan Funeral Service, Columbia Chapel with Steve Bryan officiating. Burial followed in Azalea Memorial Gardens... "The Coastland Times" - Manteo, N.C.
