Her condition had been serious for more than a week. Mrs. Schwenke was born at Henderson, Illinois July 7, 1887 and was married to Frank Schwenke of Anita at Galesburg, Illinois February 24, 1914. Following their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Schwenke located on a farm south of here, where they had resided since. Mrs. Schwenke joined the United Brethren church as a young woman in Illinois and attended the Massena Baptist church regularly, being active in the church aid society and in community affairs. She was a member of Helping Hand club, the Pine Grove club and the district P. T. A. Mrs. Schwenke's parents and a son, David, preceded her in death. She is the first of seven sisters to die. Surviving are her husband, Frank Schwenke, a daughter, Mrs. Esther Mae Karas of Massena, a granddaughter, Leila Karas of Massena, and her six sisters are Mrs. Lorinda Soper of Anita, Mrs. Sarah Folger, and Mrs. Carrie Haines of Greenfield, Mrs. Plina Folger of Gilson, Illinois; Mrs. Nora Harwood of Williamsfield, Illinois, and Mrs. Ethel Plummer of Adair. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Massena North Baptist church, the Rev. P. M. Heilig of Cumberland officiating. Burial will be the Massena Center cemetery.
