A native of Pickens County, the daughter of the late John and Margaret Philaw McQueen. Retired: Greenwood Mills. Member: Washington Avenue Church of God. She was predeceased by her first husband, Garrison B. Childress; second husband, Crayton Owens; a son, Buford Childress; two grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a great-great-grandchild. Survivors: Two daughters, Virgie Childress Taylor and Louise Childress Simmons, of Greenville; seven grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 23 great-great-grandchildren; and three great-great-great-grandchildren.
