Description	:	Minnie Meta (Masenthin) Dittmer, 101, of Crete died Thursday August 8, 2002. She was born July 16, 1901 in Vassar, Kansas to Frederick W. and Anna G. (Droege) Masenthin. She was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church in Vassar on August 18, 1901 by Pastor William Ruff. She was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church on April 16, 1916 by Pastor K.A. Leinberger. On April 22, 1925 she married William H. Dittmer at Zion Lutheran Church in Vassar with Pastor K.A. Leinberger officiating. She was born July 16, 1901 in Vassar, Kansas to Frederick W. and Anna G. (Droege) Masenthin. She was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church in Vassar on August 18, 1901 by Pastor William Ruff. She was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church on April 16, 1916 by Pastor K.A. Leinberger. On April 22, 1925 she married William H. Dittmer at Zion Lutheran Church in Vassar with Pastor K.A. Leinberger officiating. Minnie lived in Vassar for 23 years, on the farm in the Crete area for 50 years, and in Crete for the last 28 years of her life. She was a member of the J.O.Y. Group and the Ladies Aid at St. John Lutheran Church. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Elmer and Darleen Dittmer of Crete; daughter and son-in-law, Bernice and Dolyn Steuer of Crete; grandchildren, Larry and Deb Steuer, Ron and Kate Dittmer, Terry and Genie Dittmer, Jim and Angie Dittmer, Lynn Steuer, all of Crete; Sue and Don Beranek of Snokomish, Washington, Gene and Lori Dittmer of Lincoln, Sara and Todd Morton of Lincoln; 21 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wiliam Dittmer November 26, 1976; brothers, Fred, Albert, Walter, Herbert, Herman, Martin, and Carl Masenthin; and sisters, Amelia Johnson, Hulda Masenthin, and Olga Masenthin. Funeral services were August 12 at St. John Lutheran Church at Kramer with Pastor John Heckmann officiating. Organist was Jolene Reetz. Interment was in St. John Lutheran Cemetery. Kuncl Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Ronald Dittmer, Gene Dittmer, Larry Steuer, Terry Dittmer, Jim Dittmer, and Lynn Steuer. Source: The Crete News, August 14, 2002
