Her funeral service was held Thursday, Aug. 31 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Wolsey, with the Rev. Nathan Henschen officiating. Burial was in Ideal Cemetery, Huron. Minnie Reineke was born January 5, 1914, to Herman and Pauline (Hoffman) Reineke, Sr., in Beadle County, where she grew up and was educated. She married Paul Holst at Huron November 28, 1937. The couple farmed south of Wolsey for many years. Both Minnie and Paul worked as custodians at the Wolsey Elementary School and High School for many years. After Minnie retired, she returned to the school to assist in the kitchen. She enjoyed times when she could play pinochle with her grandchildren. She is survived by one son, Gene (Nancy) Holst of Wolsey; three grandchildren, Mike (Lori) Holst of Miller, Steve Holst of Wolsey, and Keri (Foster) Knudson of Huron; two great-grandchildren, Madison Knudson and Michaela Knudson one sister, Margaret (Gene) Lengkeek of Brookings; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul, September 5, 1990; two sisters, Mary Bentz and Evelyn Reineke; and three brothers, Edward Reineke, Herman Reineke, Jr., and Alvin Reineke.
