Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, December 23, at the Bowman Baptist Church with the Rev. Dean Fox officiating. Burial will be in the Cattle Creek Cemetery near Bowman. The casket will be placed in the church at noon. Mrs. Wheeler was born in Orangeburg County, a daughter of the late David Summers and Hattie Hutchins. She was the widow of Floyd R. Wheeler. She was a member of the Bowman Baptist Church, the Ladies Sunday School class, and a lifelong resident of the community. Survivors include two sons, Russell Wheeler of Branchville and David Wheeler of Bowman; two sisters, Mrs. Vera Greene, and Mrs. Florrie Canaday; one brother, Robbie Summers; three grandchildren, Carrie Smoak, Erin Zigler and Ashley Wheeler; one great-grandson, Ryan Smoak; and a number of nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the Bowman Baptist Church Lottie Moon Christmas offering. Ott Funeral Home in Branchville is in charge of arrangements.
