Read More	------------------------- Mrs. A.J. Pridemore Killed Monday When Automobile Upsets John Woods; Driver and Only Other Occupant of Car, Escapes Uninjured Mrs. Andrew J. Pridemore, 70 year old woman living northeast of Creighton, was killed in an auto accident near here early Monday afternoon, John Woods, also of Creighton, the driver and only other occupant of the machine, a Model T Ford coupe, escaped uninjured, incurring only slight bruises about the body. The mishap occurred oddly. Going up a hill, either the differential or the axle of the car failed and the machine started rolling back down, with the engine still running. Almost at the bottom of the hill, the front wheels apparently locked and the car turned completely over, alighting on the wheels and still on the grade. As it turned over, both Mrs. Pridemore and Woods were thrown clear from it and onto the grade. The car was almost totally wrecked in turning over, but the wheels were intact enough to permit it to roll on off the grade and into the ditch. The accident occurred five miles east and three and three-quarters miles north of of here, just north of the Harry Bennett place. Woods ran to Bennett's and breathlessly told them what had happened. They phoned a Creighton physician and Mr. Bennett took young Woods to the Pridemore place where they told Mr. Pridemore of the accident. The physician's examination revealed that Mrs. Pridemore died within a few minutes after being thrown from the car. Blood had flowed from the ears to some extent, indicating that death was probably not instantaneous. She suffered a fractured skull and internal injuries. County Sheriff Burns was summoned, but ordered no inquest. Woods and Mrs. Pridemore were on their way to Creighton when the accident occurred. Mrs. Pridemore had arranged to stay at the Ralph Dredge house Tuesday (the funeral of Ralph Dredge's father, U.S. Dredge, was Tuesday) and was going for groceries. The Dredges live near Pridemores. Mrs. Pridemore is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Alfred Smith of Long Pine and several brothers and sisters. A second child, a boy, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at the Methodist church here this Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock with the pastor, the Rev. Minar Gerrard, officiating.
