Description	:	Minor Easling was born February 1, 1817 at Ithaca, New York, and died at Peoria, Ill., October 8, 1906, being at the time of his death 89 years, 9 months, and 7 days old. When a small boy the family moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, where he lived until he was grown to manhood when they came to Iowa and settled. He was married to Charlotte Proper at Trumansburg, N. When a small boy the family moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, where he lived until he was grown to manhood when they came to Iowa and settled. He was married to Charlotte Proper at Trumansburg, N. Y. on April 25, 18*8 [may be 1848], and to this union five children were born, viz., Mrs. Dr. Sutton and Mrs. C. N. Henkle of Canton, Ill., Henry L. Easling of Bonaparte, Iowa, Dr. P. W. Easling of Burton, Kansas, and Horace A. Easling of Hutchinson, Kansas; Henry L. Easling of Bonaparte being the only one now living. Charlotte Easling, his wife, died at Bonaparte January 22, 1896, being at the time of her death 77 years, 1 month, and 21 days old. He crossed the plains to California in 1850 and made the trip again in 1856 with ox teams. He was one of the advance guard of pioneers who helped make the great west what it is today. He died at the Cottage Hospital in Peoria where his son-in-law, Dr. Sutton, had been a surgeon until his death a short time ago. Funeral services were held in Bonaparte Thursday morning at 10 o'clock conducted by Rev. Johathan Lee, a Baptist minister who is now located at Glasgow. The remains were interred in the Vale cemetery in Harrisburg township not far from the old home and farm of the deceased.
