He was born May 30, 1923 near Hillsboro to Homer and Bertha Ware Lydolph. He married Gladys Fields Conger in 1958. They were divorced. He attended Utica rural school and graduated from Stockport High School as valedictorian of the class of 1940. He farmed the family farm at Utica and worked 35 years at Stockport Lumber Company. He was born May 30, 1923 near Hillsboro to Homer and Bertha Ware Lydolph. He married Gladys Fields Conger in 1958. They were divorced. He attended Utica rural school and graduated from Stockport High School as valedictorian of the class of 1940. He farmed the family farm at Utica and worked 35 years at Stockport Lumber Company. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the Pacific theater during World War II, was a life member of Dimmitt-Vorhies Post No. 2271 VFW, Fairfield and was a past commander and past adjutant of Elvin E. Cecil Post No. 147 American Legion, Stockport. He was a member of Stockport Lions Club and a Harrisburg township trustee. Surviving are a son, Dennis and his wife, Jacque of Stockport; a stepson, Russell Conger and his wife, Kathy of Birmingham; two sisters, Mildred Bell of Ft. Worth, TX and Hazel Olson of Las Vegas, NV; four grandsons; three step-granddaughters; and three step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, G. Ware Lydolph. Funeral services were held Sat, March 8, at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, with Pastor Mark Caston officiating. Burial was in Dibble Cemetery south of Stockport with military rites by Elvin E. Cecil Post. Memorials to Van Buren County Hospital hospice room or Van Buren Good Samaritan Center Alzheimer's Unit may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 2157 Highway 16, Stockport, IA 52651.
