Minor Franklin Sistare had brought in in a 14 year old girl to care for his wife. He subsequently had children with her, while he was married to Rebecca. This young girl was evidently a caring, loving woman to Rebecca Snipes and took very good care of her. Rebecca was often seen on her front porch swinging and saying "howdy" to the neighbors and passer-bys. At her death in 1840 she was diagnosed with epilepsy, also Cerebral Hemmorage due to hypertension being the cause of death. The epilepsy was PROBABLY the reason Minor hired help for his wife. NEVERTHELESS - he did persue this young girl and she did have his children. This young girl was Clarsice Flossie Fincher, daughter of Joe and Martha Fencher (the parents had named her as Clarase). Clarsice Flossie Fincher and Minor Franklin Sistare became parents to at least 14 children: 1. Flossie Cleona Fincher-Sistare, 1896 - 1976, she married 4 Jul 1914 to Samuel McManus (1892-1971). Obituary Lancaster News Friday 19 December 1941 FRANKLIN SISTARE PASSES WEDNESDAY IN CHARLOTTE, NC Minor Franklin Sistare, age 70 years, passed away at the Charlotte Memorial hospital Wednesday evening after a lingering illness. Mr. Sistare is a son of the late Alex and Martha Plyler Sistare, and is survived by the following children: Festus Sistare and Mrs. W. T. Helms of Charlotte, NC., Messers. Lawson, A. C. , Perry, Dawton, Carson, and G. W. Sistare, Mesdames A. C. McManus, J. E. Watts, J. J. Massey, Y. W. Cate, W. W. Knight, Robert Wheeler, C. E. Kirkley all of Lancaster county. Funeral services will be conducted at two o'clock at Springhill Baptist church with Rev. Wade Funderburk, Pastor officiating. Interment in the church cemetery. OBITUARY LANCASTER NEWS, April 3, 1942 MRS. SISTARE OF TRADESVILLE DIES Mrs. Flossie Finsher Sistare, 60, died last night at her home in the Tradesville community. She was a native of Union county, North Carolina, and the widow of Minor Sistare. She is survived by 12 children, Lawson, Perry, Dawton, Carson and G. W. Sistare, Mrs. S. C. McManus, Mrs. J. E. Watts, Mrs. Jessie Massey, Mrs. Y. W. Catoe, Mrs. Woodrow Snipes, Mrs. Robert Wheeler and Mrs. Eddie Kirkley, all of Lancaster county; one brother, John Finsher and one sister, Mrs. James Finsher. Funeral services were conducted at 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon from the Spring Hill church. Interment was in the church cemetery.
