MRS MIRA HINSDALE BREWER One of Le Roy's Oldest Residents Passed Away on Monday Mrs. Mira Hinsdale Brewer, after a short illness, died at her home on East Main street early yesterday morning. Mrs Brewer was born November 2, 1815 in Hinsdale, Mass., a town which was named for her grandfather, Theodore Hinsdale, and which had as one of its founders her maternal grandfather, James Wing a Revolutionary soldier. Much of Mrs Brewer's married life was spent in Springfield, Mass., where she took an active part in the charitable work of the city, and during the war of the Rebellion helped to establish and carry on the Voluntary Nurses' Association. After the death of her husband in 1864, Mrs Brewer traveled extensively, making her home with her sister, Mrs Elizabeth Hinsdale Hall, then living in Le Roy in the house since occupied by Mrs Brewer. The deceased was a woman of interesting personality and broad sympathies. Her elasticity and vigor as she approached the age of ninety, was a source of wonder and pride to the town in which she was a familiar figure. Mrs Brewer, having lost her sister Mrs Hall, leaves two brothers, Frank W Hinsdale and James H Hinsdale, of Pittsfield, Mass. and five nieces and nephews, of whom two, William Hinsdale Hall and Mira Hinsdale Hall, were former residents of Le Roy. The funeral services will be held at the home to-morrow afternoon at 3.30 o'clock, the burial will be in Hinsdale on Friday morning at ten. [published on the front page of The Le Roy (N.Y.)
